Developing a collection, a basic clothing package, for a brand that has as yet no clothing in its brand portfolio. This collection comprises 8 different clothing articles and is the result of research into the brand identity, the market, and possible trend developments. A number of these clothing items are finished products, that is to say, finished to ‘sample’ level. The entire collection is also be accompanied by the appropriate style sheets and production files, together with cost calculations.
 
To me the most interesting thing was developing the production file. This file is the most important thing for production. Every little detail is in it, material overview, style description, technical drawings, size specifications, a how to measure chart, style sheets, technical style specifications, general style specifications, sequence of operations, work description, the cost price calculation and the correlation of the garment. A few of these things are shown below.
